Walker and Harvey to the DL. Add Lagares to the list. Now the Yanks join the injury parade with Sanchez and Hicks going down and Greg Bird hurting in SWB. What is going on with New York baseball?
Could this rash of injuries be partially caused by the length of games, worsened by instant replay? Extended periods on the bench when your muscles tighten up, then you run hard to first and pull a hammy or quad? We see football players on stationary bikes while their opposite squad is on the field. We don’t see them clutching their legs with muscle problems that often. (Of course, knees are wrecked by hard hits, etc)
I may be grasping at straws. Some injuries are just bad luck. Some are caused by too much effort, like diving into bases or for sinking liners. Regardless, in the Mets case, it’s time for Rosario. Even if his first taste of the bigs results in failure, if he is to succeed in NY, he has to be resilient. If a setback at this stage ruins him, he never would make it in the Apple anyway. I like Reyes and Cabrera, but the team is weak defensively, and missing their best defender makes matters worse. 6/16/17
