“Adelphi grad, radio star turns mystery novelist”
Listeners of WNEW-FM/ WNEW-AM from the 1970s into the early 1990s, or listeners of sports talk radio WFAN since its infancy as a startup station know the distinctive style, voice and unique legacy Richard Neer has carved out in the New York media market.
For Neer it all began in his college years in Garden City and prior to his graduation from Adelphi University in 1970. Fifty years later Neer is still hosting radio shows on WFAN (101.9 FM or 660 AM) usually on weekend mornings and at times, weekdays in early evenings.
