Terry Collins’ cup finally overflowth. After trying to be upbeat and patient given the Mets’ woes, he’s gotten snippy and terse with the media. Can you blame him? He’s given Milone and Rivera as reinforcements. But for which side?
The bullpen blows a lead versus the worst team in baseball who tried to hand the Mets a win. They load the bases with no outs in the 9th, down a run, and can’t score. This would have sent the late King George into a rage and heads would roll.
They need deGrom to shut the Pods out and at least take four of six from the Angels and Padres.
Let’s hope Ellsbury is okay after his meeting with the centerfield wall.
