I was never a big Tiger Woods fan. Always liked Phil better and wanted the Golden Bear’s record to stay intact. But you can’t help but feel sad that Eldrick’s mug shot is all over the internet. He says no alcohol was involved, just a bad reaction to his meds. As if that makes it ok. If you are unfit to drive and you have his resources, call a limo. It’s hard to feel sorry for a guy worth billions, but at 41 with his golf career endangered, what does he do with the rest of his life?

Can something be done about these fake headlines popping up all over Facebook and other sites? They are click-bait, proclaiming that someone has died or has left their spouse when nothing of the sort has happened. I get that you need provocative headlines to attract attention, but out and out lies should not be tolerated. This undermines legitimate news, because you tend to view all headlines with unwarranted skepticism.

Speaking of which, Alex Rodriquez at ABC News? I have no problem with him doing baseball games on Fox. That’s his area of expertise, even as he learns the ropes as a broadcaster. But what remotely qualifies him to work in a high position in news at a major network, other than his celebrity? Is that what it comes down to these days? If you have charisma and a recognizable name, you can start at the top?

Not to get too political, but I guess we did that at the very top, didn’t we?
